Melissa Murphy
President
The Fund
Melissa Jay Murphy, Attorneys Title Fund Services, LLC, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. Ms. Murphy obtained her B.S. degree from Florida State University and her J. D. degree from the University of Florida. Prior to joining The Fund, she was in private practice in Gainesville, Florida for over 30 years, with a focus on real property transactional law. Ms. Murphy was an agent for The Fund and her firm was a Top 25 Member of The Fund for many years. Ms. Murphy was an adjunct professor at the University of Florida prior to moving to Orlando, teaching at both the UF law school and in the Masters of Science in Real Estate program in the business school. She serves on the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar and was Chair of the Section in 2005-2006. The Section recognized her with the William S. Belcher Lifetime Professionalism Award in 2020. She currently serves as Chair of the Insurers Section of the Florida Land Title Association.
Brian Hoffman
Brian W. Hoffman is a partner with Carver Darden Law Firm, practicing in the firm’s Pensacola office. Mr. Hoffman is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Real Estate. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance with high honors from the University of Florida in 2000 and received his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Mississippi in 2002. His practice focuses substantially on real estate litigation and real estate transactions. Mr. Hoffman is a member of the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is actively involved with several substantive committees within the Section. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of Commercial Real Estate and the Real Property Problems Study Committee, and previously served as Chair of the Title Insurance and Title Insurance Liaison Committee for several years. Brian and his wife, Stefanie, have three children and reside in Pensacola, Florida. Patti Moser
Patti Moser is the Owner/ Broker of Horizon Realty of Alachua, Inc. since 1980 and Owner/Manager of Alachua Title Services, LLC since 2000. She is an alumna of the University of Florida. Patti has been involved in many leadership roles with the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors, including President (2021), MLS President 2008,2009,2013), Forms Committee Chair (2000-present), Stellar MLS Director (2022-present), as well as the Professional Standards Chair and Mediator. With Florida Realtors, Patti previously was the Chair of the Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee, a long-time member of the Florida Realtors/Florida BAR (FR/BAR) subcommittee, the Key Contact for Rep. Clovis Watson, and a CE-approved Instructor for Professional Standards and the FR/BAR Contract. On a national level, Patti is a Federal Political Coordinator (2012-present), visiting Washington, D.C. frequently to share issues facing the real estate and title industries with our elected officials. Patti has had numerous roles aiding the title industry, including the ALTA Congressional Liaison to Rep. Ted Yoho and Rep. Kat Cammack (2017-present), ALTA Congressional Liaison Committee (2017-present), TIPAC Committee and State Trustee (2020-present), ALTA Title Action Network (TAN) Committee (2018-2019), and the ALTA Homeowner Outreach Program Work Group (2019-2021). Patti enjoys spending time on her farm with her husband Jeff, working outdoors in her orchard and vegetable garden, playing with their two grandchildren as well as cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Florida Gators. Joe Teichert
Joe joined First American in 2017 and has served in various roles within the Agency Division including state underwriting counsel, senior operations manager, and now Senior Vice President and Area Manager of the Southeast Region which includes Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands. Before joining First American, Joe spent several years as a litigator before entering the title insurance industry as an assistant vice president and claims counsel for a national title insurance underwriter. A native Floridian with strong ties and a deep connection to this great State, Joe is a “double Gator”, having graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Joe resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife, Morgan, and two children, Wakeland, and Lottie. Erin Miller Erin Miller is a real estate attorney at Erin Michelle Miller, P.A. and co-owner of Tortuga Title, LLC in Naples and Jupiter, Florida. Whether through small law firms or her own solo practice, she has focused on real estate transactions since 2014. She enjoys being a resource for real estate agents and brokers, and has created a variety of courses with a goal of building real estate agent confidence and competence in the contracts – and translating those skills into smoother closings for customers. Erin is a member of the Florida Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee and serves as Co-Vice Chair of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section’s (RPPTL) Commercial Real Estate Committee and CLE Liaison of the Residential Real Estate and Industry Liaison Committee, and was an RPPTL Fellow (2020-2022). She has served on the Naples Area Board of Realtors Legal Resources Committee since 2020 and played an integral role in creating and updating NABOR forms for compliance with the proposed NAR Settlement. She is a Florida Realtors® Faculty member, member of Palm Beach and Collier County Bar Associations, and Past Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Collier County Bar Association. She earned her Juris Doctorate and Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Florida International University, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Spanish. Amena Clinton, CLS Amena M. Clinton is a Commercial Title Examiner for Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Commercial Agency Department since 2021. Amena started her career in 2004, with a title agency as a post-closing processor and promoted within six months of the title industry to title examiner working multi-state exams. Since then, she has worked for law firms and underwriters. She has experience examining title for foreclosed properties, mobile homes and has done curative work. In 2018 she attained her Certified Land Searcher (CLS) designation and has been a member of Florida Land Title Association (FLTA) since then. Kathi Christoff Kathi is Vice President and an Underwriter, as well as the Florida Claims Liaison Counsel, for Fidelity National Financial/Florida Agency. Prior to her current position, she was the Senior Claims Manager for American Pioneer Title Insurance Company. She brings over 31 years of experience to the title insurance community, along with the additional time she spent during her years in private practice as a real estate and probate attorney. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law and graduated with a B.A. in Allied Legal Services from the University of Central Florida. While in attendance at UCF, she was (and is) a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. For the Florida Land Title Association (FLTA), Kathi is the current Treasurer, as well as the Chair of the Claims Roundtable for FLTA’s Claims Prevention, Avoidance and Education Committee, a position she has held for the past 8 years. Additionally, she currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Citrus Council of Girl Scouts as its Second Vice-Chair and acts as the Chair for the Property Committee for Citrus Council. She is a true Florida Native going back 4 generations and on any given day can root for the UCF Knights or the UF Gators. Shelley Stewart
Sabine Seidel Sabine is State Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company in its Maitland office. She has been with Westcor since 2005 and is in charge of the Florida underwriting department as well as assisting with commercial underwriting. She also teaches at Westcor’s annual seminars and various agent events. Sabine is originally from Germany and grew up in a military family. She received her undergraduate degree in legal studies from the University of Central Florida and her J.D. from the University of Memphis. Sabine was briefly in private practice but starting in 1999 at American Pioneer Title Insurance Company, her career has been in title insurance underwriting and claims. Sabine is a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust section of the Florida Bar and serves on the Title Issues and Standards, Commercial Real Estate and Title Insurance and Liaison Committees. When not working Sabine loves spending time at the beach or the barn with her husband Joel and 14-year-old daughter Hailey. | Marty Solomon
Marty Solomon has litigated for title insurers around the country for the past 22 years, with Carlton Fields in Tampa, with Awerbach | Cohn in Clearwater, and now as a sole practitioner in St. Petersburg. He is a past chair of the FLTA Defense Roundtable committee, and first attended the Roundtable 17 years ago, with founding member Mark Brown. He has handled real property litigation, escrow disputes, contract disputes, construction defect claims, and homeowner’s and condominium association litigation for owner’s, buyers, and title agents. For title insurers, he has handled title curative litigation, coverage litigation, bad faith defense, defalcations, and closing protection letter claims. He is an Executive Council member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL). He has also been active with the Title Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). He earned a B.A. in political science and sociology from New College of USF in Sarasota, and a J.D. from Tulane. He enjoys bicycling, photography, and sailing. Lindsay R. Craig Haskins Craig Haskins is the President and CEO of Knight Barry Title Group. With over 28 years of experience in the title industry, he initially specialized in title insurance and handling complex closings. Today, he focuses on expanding and managing Knight Barry Title, overseeing more than 90 offices and 400 employees across five states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, and Texas. A self-professed title enthusiast, Craig has served as President of the Wisconsin Land Title Association and currently sits on the ALTA Board of Governors. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and an MBA from Marquette University in Milwaukee. When he's not immersed in the title world, you can find Craig meticulously mowing his lawn twice a week—a practice his neighbors find both impressive and exasperating. Lisa Walt
